What is a website member
A “website member” of this site is a user identity for the website’s services, divided into free members and paid members. The full provisions are in the Website Membership Policy; this page is a summary.
A website member is not an association member
Website membership and association membership are different identities. Association members are those who join under the association’s articles of association and the relevant laws governing civic organizations (the articles call them “members”). Becoming a website member (whether free or paid) does not make you an association member, nor does it give you the rights and obligations of an association member (such as attending and voting at the general meeting). If you wish to become an association member, please apply separately under the association’s articles of association.
The two kinds of website membership
Free members: no charge, no fixed term.
- Use the member centre to register for the association’s events and see which ones you have signed up for.
- Receive information about and opportunities to take part in the association’s vision actions in public welfare, sustainability, community service and more.
- Decide for yourself whether to receive messages from the association. Email and LINE are two separate channels; you can turn on just one, or neither.
After you join, your membership number will be shown in the member centre. The membership number and barcode are for your own use only; please do not transfer them or let others use them.
Paid members: an annual fee of NT$600, valid for one year from the date of payment, with no automatic renewal and no automatic charging. In addition to all the benefits of free membership, paid members also enjoy partner merchant discounts, events exclusive to paid members, priority registration for some events and member prices. Partner merchant discounts are in principle exclusive to paid members; where an individual offer is open to free members, the announcement for that offer governs. If the fee is not renewed, membership automatically reverts to free membership when the term ends, and the account and data are retained.
The upgrade and payment functions for paid membership are currently still in preparation, and their launch will be announced on this website. Until then, all website members are free members.
Where an event charges a fee, the fee and refund rules will be stated on that event’s page; the paid membership annual fee does not cover the cost of all events.
Subscribing and withdrawing
Message subscription is optional and separate from website membership: unsubscribing does not cancel your website membership, nor does it affect event registrations you have already completed. You can adjust this at any time in the member centre. Necessary notices directly related to your membership or registrations (such as registration confirmations and changes to events) are not part of the subscription and will still be sent to you.
You may also ask to end your website membership at any time, and the association will handle your personal data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
