Terms of Service
Version v1.5 | 2026-09-30
Welcome to the official website of the Taoyuan City Vision Association (hereinafter “the Association”). By using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using this website.
1. Scope
These Terms apply to all services provided on this website, including browsing content, member login, event registration, partner merchant offers and online customer service.
For how the Association handles your personal data, please see the Privacy Policy.
2. Website Members
What “website member” means here
A “website member” on this site refers to a user status for the website’s services, divided into free members and paid members. The fees, validity periods, benefits, renewal and refunds for both are handled in accordance with the Association’s Website Membership Policy; where these Terms conflict with that Policy, the Policy prevails.
There are two conditions for becoming a free member: reading and agreeing to the Website Membership Policy, these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and adding the Association’s LINE Official Account as a friend (those who log in with a Google or Facebook account must first complete LINE account linking). The upgrade function for paid membership is still in preparation and will be announced on this website when it opens.
⚠️ Website membership and Association membership are different statuses. Association members are those who have joined in accordance with the Association’s charter and the relevant laws governing civil associations (the charter uses the term “members”). Becoming a website member (whether free or paid) does not mean you become an Association member, nor does it grant you the rights and obligations of an Association member (such as attending and voting at the general assembly). If you wish to become an Association member, please apply separately in accordance with the Association’s charter.
Accounts and login
- This website uses LINE, Google or Facebook accounts for login; you may choose one of them. The security of that account is your own responsibility.
- One social account corresponds to one website member status. Please do not register or sign up on behalf of others.
- When you become a website member, the Association will issue you a member number. This number is used to prove your website member status at partner merchants; please do not transfer it or allow others to use it.
- Please make sure the information you enter in the Member Centre is accurate and up to date. If incorrect information means you cannot receive event notifications or be contacted, the Association cannot bear any resulting loss.
- In cases of service abuse, interference with the website’s operation or breach of these Terms, the Association may suspend or terminate that account’s access.
- Website membership is conditional on remaining a friend of the Association’s LINE Official Account. If you remove the friendship, member benefits and messages will be suspended, but your member number and data will be retained; adding the friendship again restores your website membership without a new application.
- You may request termination of your website member status at any time, and the Association will handle your personal data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
3. Event Registration
- Places at events are limited, and registration is determined by the order in which the system actually completes it. Once places are full, the system will no longer accept registrations.
- You may cancel your registration in the Member Centre before the event begins. Cancelled places are released to others.
- If an event charges a fee, the fee, payment method and refund rules will be stated separately on that event’s information page; where none are stated, the event is considered free of charge. The registration deadline is likewise as announced on the event page.
- In the event of a natural disaster or other force majeure, the Association may change or cancel an event and will give notice as soon as possible by website announcement or individual notification.
4. Event and Offer Messages
- Receiving the Association’s event and offer messages is optional and does not affect your website membership or your ability to register for events.
- Consent is sought separately for the email and LINE channels, and may also be withdrawn separately. You may change this at any time in the Member Centre, or click the unsubscribe link in a message.
- After withdrawal, you will still receive essential notifications directly related to your own actions (for example registration confirmations, event changes or cancellations). Such notifications are part of the Association’s delivery of its services and are not marketing messages.
5. Partner Merchant Offers
- Offers from contracted merchants are in principle a benefit exclusive to paid members; where an individual scheme is open to free members, that offer’s own announcement prevails (see point 7 of the Website Membership Policy).
- The content, period and conditions of use of partner merchant offers are provided and determined by each merchant itself, and the merchant’s on-site announcement prevails.
- Purchases, reservations and payments between you and a partner merchant are a relationship between you and that merchant. The Association is not a party to the transaction, does not handle the payments, and is not responsible for the quality of goods or services, defects, or disputes over performance.
- The Association may add, adjust or terminate any offer as partnership arrangements change, without separate individual notice.
6. Nature of the Online Customer Service
The online customer service on this website answers questions based on information provided by the Association. Please note:
- When it cannot find relevant information, the customer service will state directly that it cannot answer, rather than speculating or adding information of its own. This is by design, in order to avoid providing unverified information.
- Replies from the customer service are for reference only and do not constitute a formal reply or commitment by the Association. For matters affecting your rights, please rely on the Association’s official announcements or written replies.
7. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the copyright in the text, images, audio-visual material and layout design on this website belongs to the Association or the original licensor.
You are welcome to repost and share the Association’s ideas and event information, but please credit the source. For commercial use or substantial adaptation, please obtain the Association’s consent in advance.
8. Changes to and Interruption of Services
- The Association may change, suspend or terminate all or part of this website’s services due to functional adjustments, maintenance or force majeure.
- The Association will make reasonable efforts to keep services running normally, but does not guarantee that services will be uninterrupted or entirely error-free.
- This website may provide links to other websites; the content and conduct of those websites are the responsibility of the websites themselves.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Association is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of this website.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China. For disputes arising from these Terms, both parties agree that the Taiwan Taoyuan District Court shall be the court of first instance.
11. Amendments to the Terms
The Association may amend these Terms. Amendments will be announced on this page and the version number at the top of this page will be updated. If you continue to use this website after an amendment, you are deemed to agree to the amended Terms.
